Receipt scanning uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to extract transaction data from a photo of your receipt. It is one of the fastest ways to add a transaction with full details.
Follow these steps to scan a receipt.
Our OCR engine (powered by AWS Textract) extracts: merchant/store name, total amount, tax, date, individual line items with prices, and payment method. An AI enhancement pass cleans up any OCR errors and suggests the correct category.
Free users get 5 receipt scans per month. Pro subscribers get unlimited scans. The count resets on the 1st of each month.
For best results, make sure the receipt is flat, well-lit, and fully visible in the frame. Crumpled or faded receipts may produce less accurate results.
