Types of insights

Finaps generates several types of insights based on your data.

1. 1Anomaly detection — flags unusual spending spikes, like "You spent 3x more on dining this week than your monthly average."
2. 2Savings opportunities — identifies areas where you could cut back, like "Switching to a cheaper streaming plan could save you $8/month."
3. 3Spending predictions — forecasts your end-of-month spending based on current pace.
4. 4Month-over-month comparisons — highlights trends, like "Your grocery spending is down 12% from last month."
5. 5Goal nudges — reminds you to contribute to goals or adjusts recommended amounts.
6. 6Bill reminders — notifies you of upcoming recurring transactions.

Free vs. Pro insights

Free users get basic insights (anomalies and simple comparisons). Pro subscribers get the full suite: spending forecasts, detailed category breakdowns, savings recommendations, cash flow projections, and a weekly AI-generated financial summary email.

AI chat

The AI tab also includes a natural-language chat where you can ask questions about your finances. Examples: "How much did I spend on coffee this month?", "What is my average weekly grocery bill?", "Am I on track for my vacation goal?" The AI responds with data from your actual transactions — no generic advice.
